About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Development Engineer to contribute to groundbreaking research and development efforts in Cardiff . This role focuses on the optimization and validation of novel chemical processes from laboratory scale through to pilot plant operations. You will play a crucial part in translating scientific concepts into viable industrial processes, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for innovation and a solid grounding in chemical reaction engineering and process design.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes for new products.
- Conduct experiments at lab and pilot scales to gather critical process data and identify key parameters.
- Analyze experimental results, perform statistical analysis, and document findings comprehensively.
- Design and execute validation protocols for new or modified processes.
- Collaborate with research chemists and engineers to troubleshoot challenges and improve process robustness.
- Contribute to the preparation of process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures for the Cardiff facility.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering , Chemistry, or a related science.
- 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or R&D within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques and process characterization methods.
- Understanding of chemical kinetics and reaction engineering principles.
- Experience with laboratory automation and data acquisition systems is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
