About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive Process Development Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . This role focuses on the critical transition from laboratory-scale research to robust, scalable industrial processes. You will be involved in the design, testing, and optimization of new chemical manufacturing techniques, ensuring efficiency, safety, and economic viability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a passion for innovation, contributing to the company's growth in advanced materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute pilot-scale trials for new chemical processes.
- Optimize process parameters to maximize yield, purity, and reduce cycle times.
- Conduct thorough data analysis and reporting on process performance and scalability.
- Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new processes.
- Collaborate closely with R&D scientists and plant engineers to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, environmental performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
- Good understanding of chemical reaction engineering and separation principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
