About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Process Development Engineer to join their team in Plymouth . This role focuses on the critical transition from laboratory-scale research to robust, scalable industrial processes. You will be involved in the design, testing, and optimization of new chemical manufacturing techniques, ensuring efficiency, safety, and economic viability. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute pilot-scale trials for new chemical processes.
• Optimize process parameters to maximize yield, purity, and reduce cycle times.
• Conduct thorough data analysis and reporting on process performance and scalability.
• Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new processes.
• Collaborate closely with R&D scientists and plant engineers to ensure smooth technology transfer.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, environmental performance, and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in process development or chemical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Good understanding of chemical reaction engineering and separation principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
