About the Role
Our client is looking for a proactive Process Development Engineer to join their expanding team in Leeds . This role focuses on the innovation and refinement of chemical processes, bridging the gap between research and full-scale production. You will be involved in optimizing existing methods and developing novel approaches to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and scale-up new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial scale.
- Optimize reaction conditions, separation techniques, and purification methods for improved yield and purity.
- Design and execute experimental plans, analyzing results to guide process improvements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenges encountered during process development and scale-up.
- Collaborate with R&D, analytical teams, and manufacturing personnel to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, process data, and safety assessments.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- At least 4 years of experience in process development or scale-up within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and pilot plant operations.
- Strong understanding of analytical techniques and data interpretation.
- Familiarity with Quality by Design (QbD) principles is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a systematic approach to experimentation.
