Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Process Development Engineer to join their manufacturing sciences team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing operations, and quality units to implement robust and scalable manufacturing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (e.g., synthesis, purification, formulation).
• Conduct process risk assessments and implement control strategies to ensure process robustness and product quality.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Author process development reports and contribute to regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and process validation.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of unit operations, process chemistry, and scale-up principles.
• Experience with process validation, technology transfer, and GMP manufacturing environments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
