About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team based in Cardiff . This role is crucial for enhancing and refining existing chemical manufacturing processes, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and product quality. You will work hands-on with process technologies, conducting trials, analyzing data, and implementing improvements. The successful candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong analytical capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a collaborative industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental plans to optimize chemical processes for yield, purity, and throughput.
- Analyze process data using statistical methods to identify key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Develop and document new process procedures and operating guidelines.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Scale-up processes from laboratory or pilot plant to full production scale, ensuring robustness and consistency.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in process development and chemical engineering.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- 2-5 years of experience in process development, chemical manufacturing, or R&D support.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Understanding of chemical principles, reaction kinetics, and unit operations.
- Experience with statistical software packages (e.g., Minitab, JMP) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to work.
