About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to join their innovative manufacturing team in Bradford . This role is central to optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes for new pharmaceutical products, ensuring efficiency, robustness, and cost-effectiveness. You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and engineering teams to translate laboratory processes into viable commercial-scale operations. The position requires a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, process validation, and GMP manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale-up chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale.
- Design and execute process development studies, including Design of Experiments (DoE) to define critical process parameters (CPPs).
- Develop process models and conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
- Write and execute process validation protocols and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and implement solutions to improve yield, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with equipment engineers to ensure appropriate design and implementation of manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or scale-up within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, unit operations, and process control.
- Experience with process validation, GMP manufacturing, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA).
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
