About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Edinburgh . This role is focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of process development, from conceptualization and piloting to full-scale production. This is a crucial position for an engineer who thrives on problem-solving and contributing to cutting-edge manufacturing techniques within a supportive and dynamic company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, test, and validate new manufacturing processes and production methods.
- Analyze existing processes to identify areas for optimization, implementing lean manufacturing principles.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to ensure successful scale-up of new processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production process issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Lead pilot plant operations and trials, gathering data and reporting on process performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in process development and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of process simulation software and data analysis tools .
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and quality standards (e.g., GMP, ISO).
- Excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and experimental design (DOE).
