About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to contribute to their innovative chemical manufacturing operations based in Coventry, West Midlands . This role focuses on the critical task of refining and scaling up chemical processes from pilot to full production. You will play a key role in enhancing product quality, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of our manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment, collaborating closely with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical processes for improved efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Conduct pilot plant trials, scale-up studies, and data analysis to validate process designs.
- Identify and implement process improvements using statistical methods and data analysis tools.
- Troubleshoot production issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and operating procedures for new and modified processes.
- Ensure all processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in process development, scale-up, or chemical manufacturing.
- Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) principles and risk assessment techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment operation and data acquisition.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
