Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is critical for the advancement of new and existing chemical processes, focusing on driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability. You will be instrumental in taking concepts from R&D through to robust industrial application, working with state-of-the-art facilities. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products, ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct pilot plant trials and scale-up studies, meticulously analyzing results and documenting findings.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues encountered during production.
• Design and specify process equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in process development or chemical process engineering.
• Proven ability to conduct experimental work, analyze data, and draw practical conclusions.
• Familiarity with chemical process simulation tools and statistical analysis methods.
• Strong understanding of scale-up principles and hazard assessment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
