Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Process Development Engineer to join their established operations in Birmingham . This role is critical for improving and innovating existing chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring they are efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sound. You will work closely with production and R&D teams to implement process enhancements and troubleshoot operational challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a passion for optimizing complex industrial systems, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in chemical production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Conduct pilot plant trials and data analysis to validate process modifications.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives through process improvements.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to management and project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure smooth plant running and rapid issue resolution.
• Ensure all process changes comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• BEng or equivalent in Chemical Engineering .
• At least 5 years of experience in a process development or manufacturing role within the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering and separation technologies.
• Proficiency in process data analysis and statistical tools.
• Experience with process safety assessments and management systems.
