About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and practical Process Development Scientist to join their biopharmaceutical development team, working entirely remotely. You will focus on developing and optimizing robust, scalable manufacturing processes for novel biologic drug substances. This role involves hands-on laboratory work, process characterization, troubleshooting, and contributing to the transition of processes from research to manufacturing. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale-up upstream or downstream processes for biologic drug substance manufacturing.
- Perform process characterization studies to understand critical process parameters (CPPs) and critical quality attributes (CQAs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process development and scale-up activities.
- Design and execute experiments using Design of Experiments (DoE) principles.
- Collaborate with analytical development, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure successful process transfer and validation.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in biopharmaceutical process development.
- Hands-on experience with relevant bioprocessing equipment and techniques (e.g., bioreactors, chromatography systems, filtration).
- Strong understanding of cell culture, protein purification, or similar bioprocessing principles.
- Excellent data analysis, problem-solving, and scientific writing skills.
