About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Process Development Scientist to join their fully remote research and development team. This role is crucial for optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes for novel pharmaceutical products. You will apply your expertise in chemical engineering and process chemistry to ensure efficient, reproducible, and cost-effective production methods. Working from home, you will collaborate closely with manufacturing sites and R&D teams globally to troubleshoot and refine processes, contributing significantly to the successful transition of products from laboratory to commercial scale. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Scale-up chemical processes from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial manufacturing scales.
- Conduct process hazard assessments and ensure safe operating procedures.
- Investigate and resolve process deviations and technical issues during manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless process transfer.
- Utilize process analytical technology (PAT) and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor and improve processes.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development and scale-up.
- Strong understanding of chemical reactions, process design, and purification techniques.
- Experience with scale-up challenges and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
- Proficiency in process modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
