About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Process Development Scientist to join their expanding manufacturing science team in Portsmouth . This role focuses on optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, robust, and cost-effective production. You will be involved in process characterization, validation, and troubleshooting, working collaboratively with formulation, engineering, and production departments. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to influence the manufacturing of vital pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale-up manufacturing processes for new and existing pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct process characterization studies and develop control strategies to ensure process robustness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports, validation protocols, and reports for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with analytical development, formulation, and engineering teams to ensure seamless process transfer.
- Ensure all process development activities comply with GMP and relevant regulatory guidelines in Portsmouth .
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development and scale-up.
- Strong understanding of unit operations relevant to pharmaceutical manufacturing (e.g., granulation, drying, milling).
- Experience with process validation and technology transfer.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
