Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Birmingham . In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality. You will work closely with production and R&D teams to troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and support the scale-up of new products. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing chemical manufacturing processes to improve yield, efficiency, and safety.
• Develop and implement process improvements and new technologies in collaboration with R&D and production teams.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates on process performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of chemical processes, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience with process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with HAZOP studies and safety management systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
