About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Engineer to join their thriving Food & Beverage division in Derby . This role is critical for optimizing and maintaining the efficiency, quality, and safety of their food production processes. You will work on-site, collaborating with production teams, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure operational excellence. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your chemical engineering expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced consumer goods environment, contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality food products.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze production process performance, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, yield, and efficiency.
- Ensure all processes comply with stringent food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, BRC) and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with R&D on new product development and process scale-up from pilot to full production.
- Troubleshoot process issues and equipment malfunctions, working with maintenance teams for timely resolution.
- Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and relevant operational records.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
- Strong understanding of food processing technologies, pasteurization, UHT, and packaging systems.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
