About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Engineer specializing in pharmaceutical chemicals to join their state-of-the-art facility in Brighton . This role is central to ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates. You will be involved in process design, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting, working within a highly regulated environment. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an engineer passionate about contributing to the development and manufacturing of life-saving medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes for pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs.
- Lead process validation activities in compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing deviations and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Collaborate with formulation development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs teams.
- Prepare detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, URS, and validation protocols.
- Ensure all processes meet stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- Significant experience (6+ years) in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of GMP, FDA regulations, and validation principles.
- Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
- Experience with batch processing and continuous manufacturing technologies.
- Excellent technical writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
