Process Engineer (Pharmaceuticals)

Our client is looking for a diligent Process Engineer to enhance their pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Derby . This role is focused on the optimization, validation, and continuous improvement of processes involved in the production of life-saving medicines. You will work within a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance with GMP standards while driving efficiency and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Optimize and troubleshoot existing pharmaceutical manufacturing processes (e.g., granulation, tablet compression, liquid filling).
• Lead process validation activities and develop validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
• Ensure all processes comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams on new product introductions and process changes.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation and engineering drawings.
• Support equipment qualification and preventative maintenance programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) .
• Experience with process validation and qualification activities.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and unit operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
