About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting for a skilled Process Engineer to join their established manufacturing operations in Cardiff . This role is integral to optimizing production processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing workflows, working closely with the production floor and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in terms of speed, cost, and quality.
- Design and implement new production processes and equipment to meet evolving business needs and technological advancements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes.
- Conduct trials and experiments to test new processes, materials, or equipment before full-scale implementation.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and waste.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of process simulation software and statistical process control (SPC).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to process optimization.
