Process Improvement Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and analytical Process Improvement Engineer to join their team on a contract basis, contributing to enhancements within their extensive manufacturing operations based in the Milton Keynes area. This role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, developing solutions, and implementing changes to optimize production workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality. You will leverage your expertise in process engineering and data analysis to drive tangible improvements, working remotely with various stakeholders to achieve operational excellence across multiple production lines, supporting the strategic goals of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough analyses of existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Design, test, and implement new processes or modifications to existing ones to enhance efficiency and output.
• Develop and utilize data-driven methods, including statistical process control (SPC), to monitor performance and identify trends.
• Create detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
• Collaborate with production teams, quality assurance, and engineering departments to ensure successful implementation of changes.
• Manage process improvement projects from conception through to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering or continuous improvement roles within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis tools.
• Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable process improvements.
• Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience with process simulation software and manufacturing execution systems (MES) is a plus.
