About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Birmingham . This role focuses on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of production lines and operational procedures through the application of industrial engineering principles. You will be responsible for identifying areas for improvement, designing and implementing solutions, and ensuring that changes are sustainable and beneficial to the company's bottom line. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset and a passion for optimizing complex systems within a fast-paced industrial environment, contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies in manufacturing and operational processes.
- Develop and implement solutions using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
- Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Measure and report on the performance of implemented improvements, tracking key metrics.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth implementation of process changes.
- Support the integration of new technologies and automation into existing workflows.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process improvement, operations analysis, or industrial engineering.
- Solid understanding of lean principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
- Experience with statistical analysis and process mapping software.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and influence change.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
