About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their team in Birmingham . This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness within our manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for identifying inefficiencies, developing innovative solutions, and implementing process changes that lead to significant cost savings and improved product quality. Working closely with production staff and management, you will champion a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that best practices are adopted and sustained across all operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to tangible operational enhancements in a key industrial hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and optimize existing manufacturing processes to improve throughput and reduce cycle times.
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and continuous improvement workshops.
- Implement and monitor lean manufacturing techniques such as 5S, VSM, and Poka-Yoke.
- Develop process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials.
- Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure effective implementation of process changes in Birmingham .
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing preferred) or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in a process engineering or continuous improvement role.
- Demonstrated experience with lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis techniques.
- Experience with process mapping and simulation software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
