About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their thriving operations in Birmingham . This role is critical for driving continuous improvement initiatives within their manufacturing facilities, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring the highest quality standards. You will work hands-on with operational teams, applying industrial engineering principles to solve complex challenges and implement sustainable process enhancements. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for optimization using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Design, test, and implement new operational procedures and workflows to improve throughput and reduce lead times.
- Develop and deploy standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for enhanced process execution.
- Monitor production lines, collect and analyze performance data, and report on key metrics to management.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Lead Kaizen events and other continuous improvement workshops to foster a culture of ongoing enhancement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, or a similar role.
- Demonstrated experience with Six Sigma tools and techniques (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization software, such as Minitab or Tableau.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain principles.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
