About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their team in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear . This role is crucial for enhancing operational workflows and driving efficiency gains within the manufacturing and production environments. You will be instrumental in evaluating current processes, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing data-driven solutions to streamline operations. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and tools, such as 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Develop and document standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for key manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and line staff to trial and implement process changes.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and make necessary adjustments.
- Contribute to capital expenditure requests by providing justification for process improvement investments.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing) or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a process improvement or industrial engineering role.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing techniques and statistical process control (SPC).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and communicate technical information clearly.
- Experience with process simulation software is a plus.
