About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Chemical Engineer to bolster their safety protocols at their facility in Liverpool . This critical role ensures the integrity of our operations by identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe working environment through the rigorous application of process safety management principles. This position requires a proactive approach and a deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies, offering a chance to make a significant contribution to operational safety in a hybrid work capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Perform safety reviews for new equipment, process modifications, and management of change (MOC) activities.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
- Provide training and guidance to site personnel on process safety best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience focused on process safety engineering in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Proven experience conducting various PHA methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and training.
