About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Chemical Engineer to join their team in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
- Develop and implement robust safety procedures, guidelines, and management systems.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Provide technical expertise and training on process safety to engineers and operational staff.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate safety into all stages of process lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with a focus on process safety engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety principles, methodologies, and regulations (e.g., COMAH).
- Experience conducting HAZOP studies and other risk assessment techniques.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment design.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex safety information effectively.
