Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team, offering the flexibility of a remote work arrangement. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Perform quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) to identify and evaluate potential hazards.
• Review engineering designs and operating procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance on process safety principles and best practices to project teams and operational staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong knowledge of process safety concepts, standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, HSE guidelines), and risk assessment methodologies.
• Experience with safety software and tools for consequence modeling and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different locations.
