About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team, offering the flexibility of a remote work arrangement. This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety in the design, operation, and maintenance of facilities within the Oil & Gas industry. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture across all projects. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
- Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Perform quantitative risk assessments (QRAs) to identify and evaluate potential hazards.
- Review engineering designs and operating procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance on process safety principles and best practices to project teams and operational staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong knowledge of process safety concepts, standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, HSE guidelines), and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience with safety software and tools for consequence modeling and risk assessment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment and collaborate with stakeholders across different locations.
