Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client requires a diligent Process Safety Engineer to join their established team in Reading . This role is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of process safety are maintained across all company facilities and operations within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards, implementing safety protocols, and fostering a culture of safety consciousness among operational staff. This is an on-site position critical for safeguarding assets and personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) systems.
• Analyze process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as Seveso III and COMAH.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to operational staff.
• Review facility designs and modifications for process safety compliance.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably in the Oil & Gas or chemical industry .
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant process safety standards and guidelines.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
