About the Role
Our client is actively recruiting a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to bolster their safety and risk management team in Liverpool, Merseyside . This critical role focuses on ensuring the integrity and safety of processes within the oil and gas facilities . You will conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and implement robust safety management systems to prevent major accidents. The successful candidate will champion a strong safety culture, working collaboratively across departments to uphold the highest standards of operational safety and regulatory compliance in a high-risk industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies and other process hazard analyses (PHAs).
- Develop and maintain Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and strategies.
- Implement and oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and elements.
- Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards for oil and gas facilities .
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the oil and gas or chemical industry .
- Proven experience conducting HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM principles and regulations.
- Familiarity with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and their application.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective risk management in Liverpool .
