Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding team, working entirely remotely. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and integrity of chemical and petrochemical processes. You will conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and implement safeguards to prevent major accidents. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining a safe operating environment, supporting compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the organization from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols for process operations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant process safety regulations and standards (e.g., COMAH).
• Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) processes.
• Support the design and implementation of safety instrumented systems (SIS).

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering , preferably within the oil, gas, or chemical industries.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and methodologies.
• Experience with HAZOP facilitation and risk assessment software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication for remote collaboration.
