About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their operations in Leeds , offering a hybrid work model that balances remote work with essential site visits. This role is vital for ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all operational processes within the oil and gas facilities. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards, implementing robust safety management systems, and fostering a strong safety culture. Your expertise will be crucial in preventing incidents and ensuring regulatory compliance, contributing significantly to the well-being of personnel and the environment, working collaboratively with operations and engineering teams to embed safety into every aspect of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP) , Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and policies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations for process safety.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Review process designs and modifications for safety implications.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to operational personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM principles , risk assessment methodologies, and safety regulations.
- Experience with safety-critical equipment and instrumentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
