About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Process Safety Engineer to ensure the highest safety standards at their facility in Liverpool . This role is paramount in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within their chemical operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust safety management systems, conducting rigorous risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This is a critical position for an engineer dedicated to maintaining operational integrity and safeguarding personnel and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA.
- Develop, implement, and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and policies.
- Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety-related events.
- Oversee management of change (MOC) procedures to ensure safety is integrated into all modifications.
- Develop and deliver process safety training to engineers, operators, and management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant national and international process safety regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and their application.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations (e.g., COMAH in the UK).
- Strong understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and mechanical integrity programs.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
