Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their team, operating remotely from anywhere in the Sunderland area. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to operational staff and engineers.
• Review process designs and modifications for safety implications before implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related safety-focused discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process safety, preferably within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and risk assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., COMAH).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
