About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety across their operations based in Leeds . This role is instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within oil and gas facilities . You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organization. This is a vital position for maintaining operational integrity and safeguarding personnel and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Seveso Directive).
- Investigate process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Design and implement safety instrumented systems (SIS) and emergency shutdown systems.
- Provide training and guidance on process safety principles to engineering and operations teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering, specifically within the oil and gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and PSM requirements.
- Familiarity with safety integrity level (SIL) assessments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
