Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client in Cambridge is seeking a data-driven and analytical Procurement Analyst to join their expanding procurement department. This role is vital for supporting strategic sourcing decisions through in-depth analysis of spend, supplier performance, and market trends. You will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, and reporting on procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall efficiency. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, working collaboratively with the procurement team and other departments to drive best-in-class purchasing practices within the organisation. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analysis of company spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance against key metrics and contractual obligations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, market intelligence, and category performance.
• Support the negotiation process with data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the procurement function.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a procurement analyst or similar analytical role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools.
• Excellent Excel skills, including advanced functions and data modelling.
• Good understanding of procurement principles and supply chain management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex data.
• A degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
