Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Procurement Analyst to join their purchasing team in Cambridge . This role is essential for providing insights and support to optimise procurement strategies, analyse spending patterns, and identify cost-saving opportunities. You will work closely with the purchasing managers and other stakeholders to collect, interpret, and report on procurement data, ensuring informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations in the Cambridge area.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse spending data across various categories to identify trends, savings opportunities, and risks.
• Develop and maintain procurement dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Support the procurement team in supplier evaluation, performance monitoring, and contract analysis.
• Assist in market research and benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies.
• Prepare cost analysis reports and support negotiation teams with relevant data.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of procurement data within relevant systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Analyst or in a similar analytical role within purchasing.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data simply.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or a related field.
