About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical Procurement Analyst to join their purchasing department in Edinburgh . This role is critical for providing data-driven insights to support strategic sourcing decisions, optimize procurement processes, and identify cost-saving opportunities. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting on procurement data, supporting negotiations, and ensuring efficient operations within the purchasing function. This position requires a strong quantitative skill set and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business intelligence for the team in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, cleanse, and analyze procurement data related to spend, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key procurement metrics and KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within the procurement process.
- Support category managers and buyers in strategic sourcing initiatives through detailed data analysis and market intelligence.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bid analysis, and supplier evaluation processes.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, finance, or a data analysis role.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
- Experience with procurement software or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related analytical field.
