About the Role
Our client is seeking a data-driven and analytical Procurement Analyst to join their purchasing team, offering a hybrid working model in Plymouth . This role is crucial for providing insights into procurement performance, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting on procurement data, including spend, supplier performance, and market trends. The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative background and a passion for optimizing procurement processes through data analysis and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze procurement data from various sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards and reports for procurement activities.
- Support sourcing and negotiation processes by providing relevant market intelligence and cost analysis.
- Monitor supplier performance against contractual agreements and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with the procurement team and business stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Procurement Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar analytical role.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely.
