Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven and analytical Procurement Analyst to support their purchasing functions in Edinburgh . This role is essential for providing data insights, supporting sourcing activities, and optimizing procurement processes. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing spend data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and preparing reports for procurement stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a passion for using data to drive strategic decision-making within the supply chain, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement department in a hybrid work model.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, cleanse, and analyze procurement spend data across various categories and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key procurement metrics and performance indicators.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through data analysis and benchmarking exercises.
• Support sourcing managers and buyers in data-related aspects of RFPs and negotiations.
• Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance using data analysis.
• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement best practices and process improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Analyst or in a similar analytical role within procurement.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables), SQL, or Power BI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and terminology.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
