About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Procurement Lead to drive their purchasing operations from their Cambridge office. This leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, and fostering strong supplier relationships. You will play a key role in optimising spend, mitigating risks, and ensuring the efficient and ethical acquisition of goods and services across the organisation. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Implement and refine procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices.
Conduct thorough market analysis and risk assessments to optimise supply chains.

Requirements

Extensive experience (7+ years) in procurement leadership or a senior procurement role.
Proven ability to develop and implement successful procurement strategies.
Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation.
In-depth knowledge of procurement systems and best practices.
A Master's degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
