About the Role
Our client seeks a strategic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing operations in Sunderland . You will be responsible for managing a team, overseeing major procurement projects, and ensuring the acquisition of goods and services aligns with the company's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and reduce costs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the procurement team.
- Oversee the tendering process for major contracts and ensure favourable terms are secured.
- Establish and maintain strong, productive relationships with key strategic suppliers.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and ethical procurement standards in Sunderland .
Requirements
- Extensive experience in procurement leadership, ideally in a Procurement Manager role.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful procurement strategies and cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of contract law.
- Experience in managing and developing a team of procurement professionals.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems is essential for operations in Tyne and Wear .
