About the Role
Our client is seeking a results-oriented Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing function in Birmingham . This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the procurement lifecycle, from strategy development to operational execution, ensuring optimal value and supply chain resilience. You will manage a team of procurement professionals, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and build robust relationships with key suppliers and internal business partners. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve departmental goals and individual growth.
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives and financial targets.
- Oversee the sourcing, negotiation, and contracting process for all major expenditures, ensuring competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, managing performance and driving collaborative innovation.
- Implement and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Analyze market trends, identify potential risks and opportunities, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in procurement management , with a proven track record of leading teams and driving significant cost savings.
- Strong understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies, category management, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; CIPS qualification is a plus.
