Procurement Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing function in Oxford . This senior role involves developing and implementing overarching procurement strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, and driving significant cost savings across all areas of spend. You will be responsible for cultivating strong supplier relationships, ensuring ethical sourcing practices, and overseeing complex contract negotiations to support the company's growth and operational excellence. This is a key leadership position with a direct impact on the organisation's financial performance and supply chain resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
• Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier management.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and ensure best value for money is achieved across all categories of spend.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement management, with a proven track record of strategic leadership.
• Strong experience in managing diverse spend categories and complex contracts.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
• In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and risk management.
• Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; CIPS qualification is highly desirable.
