About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing operations in Manchester . This critical role demands a leader capable of driving significant improvements in cost efficiency, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing across the organisation. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust procurement strategies, managing a team of procurement professionals, and fostering collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics and a proven ability to manage complex procurement projects to successful completion, ensuring the company secures the best possible value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that align with organisational goals and drive value.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement specialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from needs assessment and supplier selection to contract negotiation and performance management.
• Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
• Implement and manage robust risk management strategies within the supply chain to mitigate potential disruptions.
• Analyse procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and process efficiencies.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a management capacity.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing category strategies and leading complex sourcing initiatives.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure favourable terms and conditions.
• Expertise in contract management, risk assessment, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
