About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing functions in Reading . This leadership role involves developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across various categories. You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement team, ensuring compliance with company policies, and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of the organisation. This is a key position for a seasoned professional aiming to make a substantial impact on the company's bottom line and operational efficiency within a well-established firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
- Manage key supplier relationships and negotiate favourable contracts and terms.
- Oversee the tendering process, including RFPs and RFQs, and evaluate supplier proposals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Analyse market trends and identify opportunities for strategic sourcing and risk mitigation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in procurement management or a senior purchasing role.
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in driving cost savings and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; CIPS certification is a plus.
