About the Role

Our client is seeking a results-driven and experienced Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing operations in Southampton . This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies that align with the company's financial and operational objectives. You will manage a team of procurement professionals, oversee major supplier relationships, and drive significant cost savings across all spend categories. This is a key strategic position within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape procurement policies and practices in the South of England.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Conduct complex negotiations with key suppliers, establishing and maintaining strong, long-term partnerships.
• Oversee the entire procurement process, ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyse market trends, identify supply chain risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate closely with senior management and other departments to align procurement activities with overall business goals.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a senior procurement or purchasing management role, with a proven track record of success.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent analytical, financial acumen, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
• A relevant professional qualification such as CIPS is highly preferred.
