About the Role
Our client is looking for a strategic and results-oriented Procurement Manager to lead their purchasing function in Coventry . This senior role demands a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management and a proven track record in developing and executing successful procurement strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the purchasing process, managing a team of procurement professionals, and driving significant cost efficiencies across a diverse range of categories. The ideal candidate will be adept at building strong supplier relationships and ensuring a robust, resilient supply chain for our operations in the West Midlands .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement overarching procurement strategies to support business goals and optimise spend.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the performance of the procurement team.
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection and negotiation to contract management and performance monitoring.
- Conduct market analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities within the supply base.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, ethical standards, and legal regulations.
Requirements
- Substantial experience in a Procurement Manager or senior procurement leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex, high-value procurement projects.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., CIPS) is essential.
