About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join their established purchasing team. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to contribute to the company's success from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities for supplier interaction, and a commitment to upholding procurement best practices in a remote setting. You will play a key part in maintaining efficient supply chains and supporting the operational needs of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
Source and evaluate potential new suppliers, assessing their capability and value proposition.
Negotiate favourable prices and terms for routine purchases with approved vendors.
Monitor supplier performance and proactively address any issues with delivery, quality, or service.
Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier details and contract information.
Collaborate with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Procurement Officer or similar purchasing role.
Solid understanding of procurement principles and supply chain processes.
Excellent organisational skills with a strong focus on accuracy and detail.
Effective communication and negotiation skills for supplier interactions.
Proficiency in using procurement software and standard office applications.
Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
