About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Procurement Officer to join their forward-thinking team, operating remotely and supporting their Manchester -based operations. This role is crucial for managing the day-to-day purchasing activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for business continuity. You will be responsible for processing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining accurate procurement records. This is a fully remote position, offering significant flexibility and autonomy to manage your workload effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a commitment to upholding procurement standards from a distance.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and generate accurate purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of suppliers, contracts, and pricing information.
- Assist in the sourcing and vetting of new suppliers, ensuring they meet company requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels for key items and coordinate replenishment as needed.
- Support senior procurement staff with data analysis and reporting on purchasing activities.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Procurement Officer or similar administrative purchasing role.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and order management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
