About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Officer to join their purchasing department in Brighton . This role is responsible for managing the procurement process for a range of goods and services, ensuring compliance with policies and achieving value for money. You will be involved in supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors. The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficient and ethical procurement practices, enjoying the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement cycle from requisition to order completion for allocated goods and services.
- Source suppliers, obtain competitive quotes, and conduct necessary due diligence.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports on spending and supplier performance.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve any delivery, quality, or invoice issues.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract terms, and supplier management.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in procurement software and standard office applications.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
