Procurement Specialist - Capital Expenditure

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist with a focus on Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) to join their strategic procurement team in Reading . This critical role involves managing the procurement of significant capital investments, including machinery, equipment, and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for end-to-end procurement processes, from defining requirements and market analysis to contract negotiation and supplier management. The successful candidate will possess strong financial acumen, excellent project management skills, and the ability to navigate complex procurement landscapes within a dedicated office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for CAPEX projects, from business case support to contract closure.
• Conduct detailed market analysis and feasibility studies for major capital purchases.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers for high-value equipment and services, ensuring best value and risk mitigation.
• Develop and manage CAPEX procurement contracts , including terms, conditions, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and timelines.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage relationships throughout project execution.

Requirements

• Proven experience in procurement, specifically managing CAPEX projects.
• Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation strategies, and risk management principles.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and ability to assess total cost of ownership.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role in Reading .
